MCTV Agrees to Carriage of VertiCast Channels

All Premier League Matches Return to MCTV + NFL, FIFA, EUROs

Bridgetown, Barbados: Premier League action plus much more top sports returns to MULTI-CHOICE (MCTV) as the company announced today the signing of the carriage agreement with VertiCast Media Group (VertiCast) for the broadcast of their 2 sports channels. Broadcast of the VertiCast channels will begin the last week of July, two weeks prior to the kick-off of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.

The agreement signed between the companies runs through 2025 and includes the best local and international sports from VertiCast. In addition to all of the Premier League matches being carried on the VertiCast channels, for the first time, multiple matches will be made available from the NFL on Sundays plus coverage of Thursday night games, Thanksgiving Day games, playoff games and broadcast of the Mega Event – the Super Bowl. The robust line up also includes the European Nations League and FIFA competitions.

Earlier this year VertiCast announced that it had acquired the exclusive rights in the Caribbean to the Premier League and would launch its channels this summer. “We are happy to be in this relationship with MCTV and will work with them to provide fans across Barbados with access to their favourite sports”, said Olly McIntosh, President & C.E.O. of VertiCast. “We will in the coming months announce other sports access to MCTV subscribers and to the wider CBC audience.”

MCTV, a subsidiary of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), provides paid television service throughout Barbados.

“This agreement with VertiCast fits perfectly into our strategy of providing the best in sports and entertainment to our subscribers” said Chief MCTV Officer Andrew Greene. “MCTV is very pleased about the return of Premier League football and that we will be able to offer it to our fans of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal”
